The new Advanced Welding Technology Centre – Soldarte will open its doors in early 2023 at the Haizea Bilbao facilities. This project, promoted by the Bizkaia Regional Government, the Vizcaya Federation of Metal Companies (FVEM), Somorrostro Training Centre and Haizea Wind Group, seeks to encourage employability through training in the highly demanded field of welding.
The Welding School – Soldarte will train 225 people in welding-related skills, And 145 of the participants are ensured a contract with Haizea Bilbao. The training will focus on three highly demanded welding specialisations: submerged arc welding (SAW), semi-automatic and deburring.
Soldarte is open to anyone living in Bizkaia, whether they are unemployed or looking for a career change. Professional profiles linked to welding are in great demand by industrial companies in Bizkaia, thus this initiative ensures the creation of new, stable and quality jobs. Although Haizea Bilbao is currently the only company collaborating in the Soldarte project, this programme could benefit the entire metal industry in Bizkaia.
